Not all Kindred are anachronisms, some have adapted themselves quite well to the modern wonders and trials of the Information Age.
This discipline is a measure of just that adaptation.
This allows the vampire to directly interface and observe a local computer with their mind, bypassing keyboards and other interface systems. They will 'see' the results as though they have an HUD display overlaying their normal vision.
They must be in relatively close proximity to the computer they want to 'psyberface', meaning the actual drives of the system, and the computer must have power and be functioning. Once contact has been established, they are able to eavesdrop on all activity within that system, though they cannot interact with it in any way.

This allows the vampire to directly manipulate a local computer with their mind, bypassing keyboards and other interface systems and interacting with the programs and O/S of the system. They will 'see' the results as though they have an HUD display overlaying their normal vision, though they may choose to direct the effect to a normal monitor interface.
They must be in relatively close proximity to the computer they want to 'jack', meaning the actual drives of the system, and the computer must have power. Data transfer occurs at the speed of thought, but the level of manipulation is limited by the vampire's skill with computer programming and use.

This allows the vampire to acces information storage and retrieval systems, and turn their own brains into temporary memory storage for data. At this level they are unable to access the data they download, only being able to act as passive storage, but it allows them to transfer data easily and quickly from one computer to another. At this level they are also able to implement basic data commands such as 'Copy', 'Erase', 'Move', 'Rename', as well.
They must be in relatively close proximity to the computer they want to 'jack', meaning the actual drives of the system, and the computer must have power. Data transfer occurs at the speed of thought (virtually instantaneous).

This allows the vampire to directly program a local computer with their mind, bypassing keyboards and other interface systems and interacting with the core-level programming of the system. They will 'see' the results as though they have an HUD display overlaying their normal vision, though they may choose to direct the effect to a normal monitor interface.
They must be in relatively close proximity to the computer they want to 'hack', meaning the actual drives of the system, and the computer must have power. Data transfer occurs at the speed of thought, but the level of manipulation is limited by the vampire's skill with computer programming and use.

This allows the vampire to enter a computer network with their mind - perhaps even 'soul'. In a fashion similar to astral projection, they will be able to enter and interact with the network itself, travelling to other computers, databases, and locations, even projecting themselves through cellular connections and radio transmissions. While they are 'inside' they are neither digital or spiritual, but a blend of both, and hence can be somewhat affected by dangers to either type of existance (from wraiths to viruses, all things are dangerous, though not quite at full potential).
Their body must be in relatively close proximity to a computer to begin with, meaning the actual drives of the system, but the computer does not need to have power (see system note), though it must at least be connected to a transceiver or phone line. Data transfer occurs at the speed of thought, but the level of manipulation is limited by the vampire's skill with computer programming and use.

Note: If the 'home' computer does not have power, the vampire can spend a point of blood to power it up for one hour. At the end of that hour the computer will power down again - cutting off the way home to the vampire's body. If this occurs, the vampire will die at dawn when their body tries to go to 'sleep', without consciousness or soul present.
Expanding upon 'Netrunning', Freehacking allows the vampire to intuitively interact with networks and communications systems. They can 'combat' or create security systems in virtual reality battlegrounds, and interact with computers in VR environemts of their own devising, even other 'users' through computer screens, phone lines, or radio transmissions.

Expanding upon 'Freehacking', Freehacking v2.0 allows the vampire to expand their interaction over entire LAN systems simultaneously, remaining in awareness of all locally connected computers, databases, and peripherals in a network.

Expanding upon 'Freehacking', Necrovirus allows the vampire to take system cracking, security, and interaction to a whole new level. With this they are able to intuitively devise and implement vruses, anti-viruses, security, and other measures 'on the fly', basing them on their own knowledge of disciplines and computers. They are no longer limited to conventional programming or data transfer to acheive their goals, and they can even install permanent 'Necrovirus' systems on any computer.
